Why Colombia’s Construction Market Needs Quality PPGI Coil

Colombia’s building sector — social housing (VIS), commercial construction, agro-industrial greenhouses and warehousing — relies heavily on colored steel roofing and cladding. But Colombia is a country of micro-climates: salty Caribbean and Pacific coasts (Barranquilla, Cartagena, Buenaventura), humid tropical lowlands, and high-UV Andean cities (Bogotá, Medellín, Cali). Cheap galvanized sheet corrodes fast near the coast and chalks under highland sun. A serious PPGI coil supplier for Colombia must offer a strong zinc base (Z120–Z275) plus the right topcoat — polyester (PE) for interior regions and PVDF for coastal projects that demand 10–15 year color life. Our prepainted coil is engineered for both, with salt-spray-tested PVDF for the Caribbean and cost-effective PE for the interior.

Shipping to Colombia

We ship from Qingdao to Buenaventura (Pacific, the main gateway), Cartagena and Barranquilla/Santa Marta (Caribbean). Sea transit runs roughly 30–40 days depending on port and routing. A 20-ft container carries about 22–25 tons of 0.35–0.50 mm coils. We quote FOB Tianjin or CIF to your port, with seaworthy export packing (waterproof paper, edge protectors, steel strapping, wooden pallets) suited to the long Pacific crossing.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the lead time to Buenaventura or Cartagena?

Production 15–20 days + sea transit 30–40 days ≈ 45–60 days factory-to-port. We share shipping documents at every stage.

Do you recommend PE or PVDF for the Colombian coast?

For Buenaventura, Cartagena and other coastal zones we recommend PVDF (Kynar 500) for 10–15 year color and salt-spray resistance. For Bogotá/Medellín interior projects, PE is a cost-effective choice.

Can you supply to ASTM standards?

Yes. We produce to ASTM A755/A653 (G-coating) as well as EN 10169/10346, whichever your engineers or NTC requirements specify.

What payment terms do you accept?

T/T (30% deposit, 70% against B/L copy) and L/C at sight, quoted in USD to protect you from exchange swings.
