DC04 is the deep drawing quality (DDQ) cold rolled grade under EN 10130. With lower carbon and guaranteed r-value and n-value, it forms deeper shells than DC01/DC03 without tearing — the standard choice for drawn housings, sinks and automotive panels. Equivalent to JIS SPCE and old DIN St14.

DC04 Mechanical Properties
| Property | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Yield strength ReL | 140–210 MPa |
| Tensile strength Rm | 270–350 MPa |
| Elongation A80 | ≥ 38% |
| r90 (drawability) | ≥ 1.6 |
| n90 (work hardening) | ≥ 0.180 |
Values follow EN 10130 for skin-passed sheet 0.7–2.0 mm. Thinner or full-hard material is quoted against the agreed specification; always confirm the governing standard edition on your purchase order.
International Equivalent Grades
| Standard | Closest equivalent |
|---|---|
| JIS G3141 (Japan) | SPCE |
| DIN 1623 (old German) | St14 / ST14 |
| ASTM A1008 (USA) | DDS |
| GOST 9045 (Russia/CIS) | 08ю (08Yu) |

Equivalents are approximate commercial matches, not certified substitutions. When your drawing or die trial depends on r-value and n-value, specify the mechanical requirements explicitly and we will match the correct grade. See the full cold rolled steel grades equivalent chart.
Typical Applications
- Deep drawn appliance housings and sinks
- Automotive body inner panels
- Filter shells and motor casings
- Lighting and cookware components
- Precision stampings with multiple draw stages
How DC04 Compares to Neighbouring Grades
DC04 sits between DC01 (commercial bending) and DC05 (extra deep drawing). If a die trial shows earing or wall thinning on DC04, moving to DC05 with r90 ≥ 1.9 usually solves it at a modest premium. For the most severe draws, DC06 (IF steel, EDDS) is the top of the family.

FAQ
What is the difference between DC03 and DC04?
DC04 has lower carbon (0.08% vs 0.10%), higher guaranteed elongation (38% vs 34%) and a guaranteed n-value. DC03 handles moderate draws; DC04 is the true deep drawing grade.
Is DC04 the same as SPCE?
They are the standard commercial match — DC04 under EN 10130 and SPCE under JIS G3141 both serve deep drawing duty. Confirm r/n requirements if your tooling was designed around one standard.
Does DC04 need to be ordered oiled?
For deep drawing we recommend oiled (rust-preventive + drawing-compatible oil). Dry coil is possible for short transit and immediate use.
Can you supply DC04 slit to my strip width?
Yes, slitting to 20 mm and up with ±0.10 mm width tolerance, packed on request as ribbon-wound or oscillate-wound coils.
